Citizen App announced its shift to a subscription-based model in June this year. With this change, users will be able to keep track of the alerts they get from the app and other security details.
The tool will not come with a fee as it may seem, as users won’t have to pay anything for using it. The measures are being taken to help make it more reasonable for people to use the Citizen app because of its features and safety benefits. This would also help the company attain the necessary support to continue operating.
The “alerts” will notify users about crimes that might be taking place in their vicinity, such as robberies, shootings as well as other crimes of violence. If someone sees something out of the ordinary, they can send an alert to Citizen, which will be sent to the safety agents in a particular city. The safety agents will then reach out to those people and get more information about what happened.
Currently, the Citizen app has nearly 5 million users across the United States and is available in English and Spanish. The app is used for many functions, such as reporting suspicious activity, on-demand parking availability from all relevant locations, and much more.
